Apple's WWDC 2019: Mac Pro, Catalina, Catalyst, iOS13, iPadOS

In the week of June 3, 2019 Apple kicked off its annual developers' conference, WWDC,  at the Steve Jobs Theater on the company's Apple Park campus. During the events,  major technologies and offerings were unveiled, including  a new  Mac Pro, a new version of MacOS named Catalina, Catalyst,  to improve portability of apps between Mac OS and iOS, iOS13 version,  and iPadOS.

Among the products and innovations unveiled are those that will support the "future of ITunes" and the latest innovations unveiled in March 2019. In March, Apple highlighted the following products:

During the WWDC 2019 conference, the products and innovation covered had the following features and capabilities:

  • Mac Pro:
    • One of the arguably star products unveiled during the WWDC show is the new Mac Pro.
    • The $5999 Mac Pro comes with up to 28-core Xeon processors and 64 PCI Express lanes.
    • The new Mac Pro will also use six memory channels, with 2933 MHz ECC RAM, in 12 slots, with up to 1.5 TB of system memory
    • Other key features and capabilities include:
    • Up to 4TB of SSD storage, encrypted with Apple's T2 chip, that can be installed at the time of purchase.
    • An optimized enclosure, with wheels. Without wheels, the enclusure dimensions are, height x Depth X Width: 20.8 inches x 17.7 inches x 8.58 inches.
    • Networking supported by 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0
  • iOS 13, the new version of IOS will:
    •  introduce new Dark Mode to iOS devices
    • improve performance especially for Face ID recognition,
    • lead to faster and secure downloads, updates, and app launches.
  • MacOS Catalina, the new version of MacOS:
    • will support the "future of iTunes"
    • divide the iTunes into three apps: Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV
  • iPad OS :
    • is the new version of iOS designed for the larger screens on the iPad family
    • divide the iTunes into three apps: Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV
  • Catalyst:
    • will help simply the portability of Apps between iPads and Macs
    • The aim is to improve and, even, boost quality of apps developed for both Mac & iPad apps
