NBA 2022: Khris Middleton Helps Milwaukee Bucks Beat Phoenix Suns in Showcase Game

 Milwaukee Bucks is a strong contender in Eastern Conference for NBA playoffs. Standing at 39-25 on March 6, 2022, it managed to beat Phoenix Suns, ranked no 1 with 51-12 in Western Conference in a showcase game. It was a rematch of last season's NBA Finals, at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Although Giannis Antetokounmpo's performance appeared not to meet the high expectations, the Bucks beat the Suns 132 to 122.

The Phoenix Suns led the Milwaukee Bucks 76-72 midway through the third quarter. In the fouth quarter, Milwakee managed to lead by 121-119. The lead was short lived, but the Bucks came back.

The odds were against Phoenix Suns that missed three key players. They relied on Landry Shamet, the guard. He did not disappoint. By the end of the first half,  Landry Shamet has scored 14 points, a personal record. He ended the game with 17 points.

However, the stars of the game were Milwaukee Bucks' Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. Khris Middleton scored 44 points;  Jrue Holiday scored 24. Giannis Antetokounmpo came in third with 19 points.  A new player, Serge Jonas Ibaka Ngobila, was also among the top scorers.

 Giannis Antetokounmpo, the MVP showed his skills, scored among the top, but also picked up to 5 fouls during the game. In 2021, Giannis Antetokounmpo helped Milwaukee Bucks beat Phoenix Suns, 4-2, to with NBA 2021 Finals and  got the MVP (see here NBA 2021 Finals: It is the Milwaukee Bucks, for the Championship and Giannis Antetokounmpo, for MVP).  

On the Phoenix Suns' side, three players came on the top: Deandre Ayton, 30; Camerron Payne, 23 and Joe Crowder, 19.


The game has raised even more anticipations for the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
